It is great to know before you go! ClearStay has vacation rental reviews you can believe in. All the reviews displayed here are 100% verified to come from past guests.
Our stay at La Iguana made our stay in Akumal perfect. The ocean was 50 feet from our front door, water was clear, diving great, and perfect weather. What a great place to vacation. We will be back.
Our condo was perfectly placed. My only issue with the entire stay is the comfortableness of the sofas in the living room. The fixed sofa is especially uncomfortable, the futon slightly less so. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves immensely and will recommend it.
The location of the condo was ideal. The only disappointment that we had was access to the water. We expected to be able to walk right down into the water from the beach. There were lots of rocks and not a soft-sandy beach to walk out on to. Lots of rocks once you got out into the water. We had to go to another location to get into the water to swim. However, that didn't stop us from having one of the best vacations we've ever had. The view was fantastic. Our bedroom window faced the ocean. (I got the window side!)--The breeze would come in off the ocean and sweep across my face and gently carres it as I slept. The sound of the wind coming in off the ocean was none the less romantic. The property grounds were beautiful all around, very well kept and maintained. The management was excellent. Hector was the best. I did have a major panic attack when we pulled up to the office on the day of our arrival. From the street side I thought it looked like a slum and I wondered what I had got us in to. The buildings next to the office are run down, windows missing with bars across them. I was very concerned what we were going to find after we went through the entry. I stayed in the car at first and let my companion go and check out the ice so to speak. It was a complete surprise to me. It was the little tropical paradise I had read about. Again, the outside is not a good representation for what you'll find on the inside. The grounds were immaculate. Beautiful foliage every where, 2 little pools, one just outside or our entry. Our condo was nice but needed some maintenence. A shower curtain in the master bathroom was torn and needed to be thrown away. It was clean but smelled very moldy. The furniture in the living area needs to be cleaned or replaced. Bed was very comfortable. The maids did a wonderful job and I liked they're think green policy as far as the linnens were concerned. Our patio screen door would not stay on.
