GREAT LOCATION, WILL ACCOMMODATE AN ARMY OF PEOPLE IF NEEDED, THE HOT TUB IS THE PERFECT TOUCH, TO THIS BEAUTIFUL CABIN! I PLAN ON STAYING AGAIN!
We rented bear pad and moose pad together for youth retreat. It is really helpful for big group of more than 20. It is not around the Big bear lake, but lake is 5 minute away by car. It is very economical when I compare it with other cabins near Big Bear especially when you plan for a big group. Enjoy!
Backyard was so dirty that we didn't feel like going to the Spa. I stayed other cabins in Big bear but this one is not as good as others. Also, we had to turn on the pilot for the heater. It wasn't working when we went there. There was no TV remote in the room. Upstairs TV wasn't working. I felt like money wasn't well spend at your cabin.
A letter I sent to the Property manager following my stay: I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with our weekend at BearPad, February 20-22. From the time we checked on Friday, the jacuzzidid not work and never heated up, even until we left on Sundaymorning. We called several times and someone came on Saturdaymorning, but by Sunday it was still not hot. The jacuzzi was the mainreason we chose to stay at Bear Pad. We were very disappointed withthis. The man who came to fix it on Saturday had told my party thatif it did not work, we would receive a partial refund on the price ofthe cabin. Aside from this problem, there was no key for thefireplace, several clocks were not working, the light bulb on thefront porch had to be replaced at our expense, and the main lamp inthe living room was not operational. To top it all off, on Sundaymorning, the toilet in the upstairs bathroom overflowed, leaking waterthrough the ceiling and onto the kitchen floor downstairs. At thistime, we deemed the cabin inhospitable, and alerted the propertymanagement that we would be checking out.To add insult to injury, I have discovered an additional charge hasbeen placed on my card for $92.12 from 2/19. I had already paid thefull price of the cabin - $225 Security Deposit as of 12/18, and thebalance of $811.35 2/12, per the original contract. I am very upsetand would like some attention paid to this as soon as possible.First I need a refund on the $92.12 which is an errant charge, then Ineed a refund on the portion of the $811.35 that was accounted forSunday night's stay which we did not use, due to the water leaks, andthen I need a refund for the non-use of the jacuzzi and otherdisrepair of the cabin. Then I will need a refund on the SecurityDeposit as soon as possible.
I got to the cabin with no problems finding the place. When we got to the cabin and went to the back yard there was vomitt right out side the back door. My guess and I cleaned it up. I then went upstairs to the bathroom where I found one of the cabnets were broken. There was also no toliet paper we had to go to the store and buy our own. When they tell you to bring everything you could need they are not joking, bring a dish towel, paper towels, dish soap and sponge.
When at first entering Bear Bad, everything looks great. But as you look closer into the condition of the cabin, everything is very, very old and some things seem to have some sort of problem A few examples would be: 3 bedroom cabin with ONLY 1 working heater. One other bedroom has no heater while the other has one in the wall but does not work. When complained about, no one will come to fix it, especially during holidays, making a vacation a hassle and an icicle. Also, all blinds in bedrooms either broken or bent, Televisions are very old and include VCR players (not even a single $30 DVD player). In this day and age, High definition is the new format and you end up with a VCR that has no use what so ever. Jacuzzi also takes a very long time to warm up to desired temperature. Overall, a workable yet cozy cabin with large spacious rooms. But all the mentioned issues add to dissatisfaction!!!
There was no DVD as stated in the information. Vaccuum was not working properly. Heaters on each room were also not working. Refrigerator was making a loud noise. Water pressure in the shower is so low. There were old ice cream and ice in the freezer when we got in, meaning to say they do not check.
The Jacuzzi was filthy. We found dirty underwear under the bed in one room, the futon in the other room was broken, so my son slept on the floor. There was trash in the couch. No bed linen upon arrival and no trash can in the kitchen. Two of the dining table chairs were broken and the shower did not work. And these are the good points. Still waiting for the management to contact me with my list of complaints... not holding my breath
