  The location is fantastic and the properties, although a little dated are clean and comfortable. The only negative comment I would have is that the couch could do with replacing - not very comfortable at all.

  Our first impression when entering our condo was the great view out the balcony. The ocean and tidepool shows through a thick jungle foliage than backs up to the property.
  The pool was warmer and larger than we expected. We spent hours hanging out there and getting to know the residents.
  The unit was clean and nicely furnished; there was even snorkel and beach gear in the guest closet.
  The pretty beach park next door had good swimming and snorkeling in the large tide pools and the local beachgoers were friendly.
  The location was a bit off the beaten path, about 5 minutes from town, with some industrial areas and less desirable beaches down the road, but we had no problems doing the short drive every day.
  Our master bedroom had the same great view as the living room and we slept well at night, seneraded by the sounds of the ocean and the frogs that inhabit the jungle.
  We had a great stay and love the sleepier, rainforest environs of Hilo and the nearby Puna coast. We hope to come back again.

  bathtub walls were mildewed, cockroaches in the kitchen, kitchen utencils, dishes, pots and pans were so dirty that I had to wash most of them. only clean things were refregirator and stove! kitchen floor was dirty and sticky carpet looked as though not v acuumed(hair and nail clippings) the view and access to water made tolerable but frogs drove me crazy at night I wished there was a air condition!

  We love the location and have stayed in this unit over 5 months during the last year and a half. The unit view of the ocean is great but the coach spring was broken, masterbed to hard, lack of cross ventilation, and the bathroom orders were very distracting.

  Staying in Hilo is a laid back experience. We love its multi culture and visiting events at the U of H. Being close to the ocean is a must for whale watching. Condo 306 is in need of new beds and remodeling of bathroom and kitchen to enjoy it more. Management is helpful and kind and quick to answer our needs.

  We have been coming to Hilo for 18 years and love its parks and beaches. A wonderful place to see whales and swim with turtles and visit market. We continue to encourage friends to come to Hilo and see what we have fallen in love with.

  Lovely place to stay - great swim hole, lovely condo, excellent service overall. Sharene and Su take calls and give advice at all hours and are real pros! Only flaw was the cleaning service - in 2 mths, they never showed up despite 3 phone discussions.

  I never did receive a cleaning, tho I was contacted 3 times to set it up, and even suggested a week while I would be out of town. Also, the kitchen floor had not been washed when I moved in - very sticky and grimy...
  But the rest of the apt was clean and the repairs I requested were done in a timely manner.
  I highly recommend bug traps for cockroaches, and a trash can with a lid that closes tight - to avoid feeding cockroaches in the kitchen.
  Also recommend stocking basics like olive oil, vinegar, salt & pepper, mayo, mustard, as these are basics that folks need.
