The unit was fantastic. Nicely appointed, large, upscale, beautiful lanai. Unfortunately, the design of the buildings, all facing in toward an uninspiring pool and luke-warm hot tub is very clostrophobic. With all the room on the Poipu Kai property it is very unfortunate that they built such beautiful condos in such an enclosed area. It defeated the sense of where we actually were. Next time, I would choose a lesser unit with a more open view.
We were on the second floor in a three floor unit. We subsequently found out that there were six adults and three children above us. We quickly discovered why the owners urge tenants to remove their shoes while in their units. Nobody does, however, and, thus, every step, stomp and run resounded thru the unit below like rifle shots that quickly turned our area into a chinese water torchure exsistence. The Manager finally moved us to another building and unit where nobody was above us. It's obvious that the owners plan to sell the units in the future. That should be a criminal act since nobody could survive the noise except those on the top floor. The architect and builder of those sound chambers should be forced to seek alternative lines of work. We are sure that our review will never be used. It is factual. Ask your very pleasant and efficient General Manager. We will not be visiting in the least in this life time.
We were delighted with how well equipped our unit was, and how lovely the furnishings were. The covered porch overlooking the pool was the perfect spot for coffee in the a.m. and the evening meal. This was a terrific choice for our family stay.
The Villas at Popui Kai are beautiful, upscale units. The well appointed kitchen is great if you desire to cook during your stay with great appliances and cookware. You could live in the master bathroom. The furnishings and decor are lovely. The pool is very nice and was never crowded nor noisy during our stay. It is a quite a walk to the beach which may not be ideal for families with small children.
Yes, when we arrived at the Villa at night, it was difficult to locate our building because of less light toward the letter that is attached to the building. We also were disappointed that the spa was inoperable and the elevator, too. Other than we had a wonderful time staying in the unit.
