September 2008 was a special occasion for the Smith Family. We met here at Hale Kono Kai to celebrate my sister's 50th, my 60th, and my wife and my 9th anniversary. We couldn't have selected a better place for value!The moment we all stepped inside the front door we fell in love with the house, its welcoming atmosphere, and the location. We settled right in, scrambling to check out every nook and cranny.The two weeks spent here are listed in our top 5 vacation destinations — and all of us are world travelers. This is certainly one place we want to return to in the near future.Make sure you make friends with the Brazilian Cardinals ... they enjoy crackers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!
Could not have had a better location. The house with all its many ammenities , such as beach towels, bikes, snorkel gear were a huge bonus. The accomadations provided everything and then some. Well worth the rental cost. Views were stunning to go along with every thing else. I would go back to the same property in a heartbeat
Hale Kono Kai is a great property with a fantastic view. The home's layout works really well if your party consists of mutltiple couples or a large family. The house is in need maintenance though. Several things did not work (garage door opener, hot water faucet in one of the bathrooms was broken, and the upstairs balcony was "closed", etc.). This is the second time that I have stayed at this property and would stay here again, despite the maintenance needs.
WOW,From the moment we arrived to the time we left,we were constantly awed with the house and all it's ammenities. It's location, lanscaping and ocean view far exceeded all of my family's expectations. The view from the master bedroom was a perfect way to start the day. Also, at the days end, Hale Kono Kai was always a welcomed sight from a long day of vactioning experences.
Our family really enjoyed our stay at Hale Kono Kai. The layout was perfect for the 8 adults. In all the property was in very good condition. The only complaints we had were the gas grill seemed to have a mind of its own re: temperature regulation and the dishwasher seemed to get stuck on certain cycles. I would definitely stay here again.
B Grade Rental. Nice Enough.Much noise from upstairs through ceiling.Minimal stocking of dishes, household goods.Worst problem is excessive cleaning fees (we were very tidy), excessive property damage fee - should have security deposit.Hot tub had too much chemicals - harsh on skin. Hot tub maintenance came before checkout, peeped in windows at us packing to leave prior to checkout time. Water cloudy, seemed dirty (turbid).No laundry baskets.No towel drying racks.Many broken window cranks, louvers.Inadequate hot water.Fridge does not get cold - spoiled food.No hot water on bar sink.Otherwise, Nice Place in many regards.Yard was not well maintained.
This is the second time we have stayed at Hale Kono Kai. It is a wonderful property. It is not a brand new house which suits us fine. It is such a unique Hawaii home. It has incredible views and privacy galore. There is lots of room for our boys to play in both inside and outside and it has only gotten better since the last time we stayed here with the addition of bicycles and other play equipment.
the house was beautiful and the view was great! only down side was location to beach.
We rented this house when we were getting married in Princeville. This is a beautiful house with very nice furnishing. Master bedroom is huge. It is our honeymoon suite. We enjoyed it very much.
