It is great to know before you go! ClearStay has vacation rental reviews you can believe in. All the reviews displayed here are 100% verified to come from past guests.
The property location and views are great. As usual, we had wonderful time and felt completely at home there. We are considering staying for a month next year, but really would like to see some updating. Some of the furniture fabric is really getting worn and stained. The patio furniture is getting tattered. Televisions are out of date and the DVD player didn't work. . There is no wireless internet signal in the family room. I usually don't waste my time critiquing vacation spots, but we like the property and location so much, I want to keep returning every year! Thanks. Jon Jessen
We really like the Property and the Layout is all ocean-view. We live in Oahu and have rented it 4 times. Our only complaint was the refrigerator wasn't working properly and we had to use ice chests almost all week. Property Management was very responsive and Repair people were sent out first thing but unable to fix it during our week there. Hopefully the owner will replace it so we can have a 5 star experience next time!
the house needs additional beach chairs (it only has 4) ans some linen for the 2 extra beds. other wise, everything was great.
There were five of us staying at the house and we always had our own "space" when we wanted it as well as plenty of room to be together. Loved hearing the waves lull us to sleep every night and waking each morning with a view of the ocean from every bedroom. Wonderful to be able to walk down to the Sea Lodge Beach in about 10 minutes, so beautiful and private! Having five cooks along, we all enjoyed having everything we needed to prepare a meal in the kitchen or on the grill. It was fun to see the whales and dolphins playing in the surf as well as two families of albatross on the neighboring yards. Couldn't have found a more perfect location for our 30th Anniversary vacation with our children. It was a wonderful vacation!
Keoniana Kai is a gorgeous home with fantastic views. We saw whales from the view in the living room. With that said, this house is in dire need of maintenance and cleaning. When we checked in, we noticed a lot of spiders/webs and dead bugs by the headboards of the beds. Also, a bunched up dirty comforter was stuffed behind the couch in the TV room. The spa was filthy, so we drained it and cleaned the filters, and refilled it. There was lots of black mold on the sides of the house right next to the spa, and it could have used a good power spray. The first night we wanted to barbecue some steaks and found out that the charcoal barbecue was also filthy, so cleaned the best we could, and put foil on top. We ended up buying grill covers to use during our stay. The lack of privacy could be an issue for some. There were quite a few people that walked in front of the house to the beach trail also. The driveway is very steep. We also had albatross nesting in front of the house which was awesome to see!Since we were in paradise, we tried to not let the problems bother us, or ruin our vacation. But, the kicker was the day before we were supposed to leave. I was doing laundry, and dropped a face cloth next to the master bed downstairs (which we didn't use..we used the upstair bedroom only). When I went to pick it up, I found some nasty surprises left by the previous renters. This is totally unacceptable, and we called the front desk immediately. Since this was a Sunday, no one returned our call. So we called the next morning since we were leaving that day. They were very nice about it, and refunded the cleaning deposit (plus the mid-stay fee since no one
House itself was well layed out, nice to have extra room since it rained three days. Nice view. We rented a van, which did not worked well with the lay out of the driveway and having to park in the garage which is on down a slope and sharp turn. You should advise people of the access for the pump station before renting out.
Great views. Property very nice. I would stay againCriticisms: Could use some furniture updating. Master bedroom needs a tv. The privacy wasn't the best as we had people walking thru the property daily (going to Sealodge Beach Trail.
Keoniana Kai is a dream house in a dream location. The house is clean and spacious with an incredible ocean view and lots of light everywhere. The house has an open architecture that can also provide a nice breeze throughout the day (if desired). It is so well-equipped that, other than food, there is really nothing you need to bring. The kitchen has every amenity you can think of, including a large selection of cook-books and spices for big cook-offs. A BBQ grill including coal is also available. Even binoculars for watching the local birds and marine life are provided. Keoniana Kai has 4 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms with ocean view, and a TV/game room that can serve as a fourth bedroom. There is also a hot tub and some lounge chairs for enjoying the sun on the patio. We did not actually meet a property manager, but the check-in and check-out went smoothly as described in the instructions.A small "secret" beach can be reached by a 15-minute walk on a footpath down the hill (bring good shoes, though, the path can be slippery). The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling, and usually there are not more than a hand full of other people around. Princeville Center is a two-minute drive away.If you are travelling to Kaua'i with a group of 4 to 8 people, don't spend your money on a hotel, stay at Keoniana Kai!
We very much enjoyed staying in this well maintained and pleasant Asian-style residence in August 2008. It was convenient to Princeville Center and activities on the north shore, had breathtaking ocean views, and one could hear the waves from the residence. There was also trail access to Sea Lodge Beach from the residence, a nioe bonus. The home was well stocked with towels, beach supplies, bedding and kitchenware - and in well maintained condition. The views were the real assest, with the home located high on a ridge above the ocean with expansive ocean views from most every room. Would gladly stay here again.
We spent wonderful time in the Keoniani Kai home. It was the most memolable trip ever for my family and me. Spaceful living area with beatutiful view, we had never experienced such great days. We enjoyed taking a walk and exploring to the beach every day. But only one regrettable thing is that windows were a little dirty. It's so shame to take advantage of amaging view from rooms! (Could we ask you to wipe up??)But anyway, we absolutely would like to stay again and recommend my freinds.
Great location with an awesome view. We sat out on the deck the majority of the time we were at the house. Deck furniture was pretty uncomfortable. All bedrooms have great views. Kitchen was very well stocked. House was pretty clean the walls were a little dirty. Nice bath and beach towels. We thought there was supposed to be beach chairs but there were none.
Our vacation group (6 of us) have rented through Re/Max Kauai twice now (Kolepa Kai in 2006 and Keoniana Kai in 's hard to believe but not one of us had any complaints about the homes or Re/Max. Without doubt, WE'LL BE BACK!!!
Loved the house. It was in a picture perfect location. The outdoor jacuzzi was so wonderful in the evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed. The only issue I had was with the cleanliness. It was obvious that they had sprayed for bugs (which is great). But noone cleaned up. There were piles of dead bugs everywhere. I realize it's Hawaii, and you are surrounded by nature. But it would not have been difficult for someone to do a quick cleaning before we arrived.
This home is fabulous, we were thrilled with the accommodations, location and view! We enjoyed our stay tremendously and hope to one day return to this same home.
