  great location, near all amenities, great place to go if your looking for a laid back location. The beach was never crowded.

  This property needs AC. it was very hot at night and the only window in the bed room faced a busy, noisy street.
  General maintenance is required in he unit.
  The suite floors were dirty with dirt and dust around the edge of the rooms .

  Grounds at Hale Pau Hana were very nice. We enjoyed the views from our lanai every day! The pool was clean - we swam everyday. The beach!!! WOW! Really perfect. Love to come back!

  Initially we were concerned with the fact the property office was closed during open business hours (couldn't get a parking permit) and then saw the notice for construction on the property and that the pool was under construction. Thus, it was very loud the first few days of our stay and the pool unusable. This property should not have been rented during those days - as there was alot of construction going on. However, Hawaii Holidays did a great job at managing the problem and giving us assistance in either getting a refund/credit, communicating with the property manager and even offering to switch properties. We were so in love with the view and location of the condo that we didn't want to leave - so we toughed it out. I'd also add that the pictures of the condo are not up to date - the balcony furniture was not as nice as shown in the picture. Thus, the only reason I didn't give a 5 for overall satisfaction of our stay, was the inconvenience of the construction and noise, etc. If we came back to Maui and were sure of no construction we would DEFINITELY stay at the property again!

  Hale Pau Hana is fabulous. The building is dated but we pretty much figured it would be when we booked. The location is outstanding and we loved being right on the beach.

  We enjoyed our stay, but were shocked to discover no air conditioning! Overall, we were pleased. The unit needs some maintenance, though. The location is excellent..on a nice, uncrowded beach, walking distance to several very good restaurants, comfortable. The owners of the other condos were less than friendly, but we didn't come to socialize.

  We had a wonderful holiday at Hale Pau Hana, Unit 606. The location right on the beach, the pool and grounds were beyond our expectations. We did, however, feel the unit had not really moved from the 1970's and that the owners should pay more attention to the general cleanliness overall. For example, the upholstery needs to be cleaned and inside the cupboards (particularly under the sink) need attention. We do not feel this is a housekeeping/cleaning crew problem but rather that the owner needs to be more hands on in reviewing what the unit needs in the way of regular maintenance. The unit was very well equipped for a stay in the sun.
  
  In closing, we are not criticising the lack of updates from original construction, only general cleanliness. The unit was really charming and we would love to return.
  
  We hope you will accept this as constructive comments for the future. We also realize it is difficult to maintain a standard because not all occupants treat the unit kindly.
  
  Finally, we must say that Tracey of Hawaii Holiday Vacation Rentals was so helpful and made everything so easy for us.

  An amazing location in a very nice complex. Overall the unit needs a very thorough cleaning and the master bedroom shower needs to be replaced as it is very disgusting (we did not use it at all) . Also the linens and pots/pans need to be replaced. It was advertised with air conditioning in the master bedroom but that did not exist. A few too many bugs but that would be eliminated with a thorough cleaning. A very comfortable basic unit that is well equiped and furnished but needs some time and money invested in order to bring it back to a three star. Overall I am satisfied but if you rent this place with the right expectations and plan to be on the lanai and the beach.

  As usual we had a great holiday in Maui. Unfortunately, our suite was not what we had expected. It requires a good cleaning and updating.....even painting would help. We were missing a change of sheets for the bed and the vacuum cleaner did not work. The most distressing event was the bugs in the sofa. I sat there every evening and had several encounters with these black bug on the sitting area, on the floor in front of the sofa, and one was even up my shirt! The property management staff were very good about sending in someone to spray, but we did see two after this event. This is our second year in this suite and would love to return again but not until some changes have been made.

  We loved our stay at the "house of finished work" it really is a carefree relaxing experience. The night we got there it was late around 10:30 and we went straight out to the lanai and sat in awe listening to the waves and feeling the warm air. The condo was perfect for us. It was comfortable and had everything we would need for our stay. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the beach in front was fabulous. We just had to walk down the steps in front to the beach and we could snorkel, boogie board, swim or just sunbathe; right there in front of the condo.
  We had such a wonderful time that I almost cried when we had to leave and go back to the snow and cold. We can't say enough about our holiday in Kihei. We will definitely recommend Hawii Holiday Vacation Rentals and Maui, of course.
  We will return hopefully sooner than later. Mahalo!

  The only thing was that the pool was not able to be used and I wish we were notified. It would have been nice to be given a heads up.
