  The condo was very nice, but there was a large cockroach that greeted us upon our arrival. That was a disappointment. The unit was very dusty also. However, it was furnished beautifully and came with everything you could possibly need and we were very grateful for the coolers, beach chairs,etc. I would recommend this condo to anyone, but would ask that you do a quick inspection before your new guests arrived. A thorough cleaning needs to be done including under the bedroom furniture and living room couch.

  There is one little window air conditioner for the whole condo. It is in the living room. The description said there was one in the bedroom but we sure couldn't find it. There was at least 10 degrees difference from the living room to the bedroom. It was very hot and muggy and we had to spend the night in the living room where the a/c was, on the sofa bed with a metal bar poking us in the back. And even then it was inadequate. We couldn’t stand it and left the next day. We went to a hotel where the a/c actually worked. We will never ever stay in someone’s condo again. Very disappointing and very expensive. I paid 500.00 to spend one miserable night on a sofa bed. I understand that it wasn’t their fault that the weather was muggy, but you know what, it wasn’t my fault either.
  NEVER EVER AGAIN.
  I gave it a 1 star rating only because I couldn’t give it zero stars.

  We installed a large 12000 BTU air conditioner in the D-614 living area, larger than the 10000 BTU unit recommended for the condo's size and enough to get the temperature into the 60s if you want to. We never imply the bedroom has an air conditioner, but even if there is a 10-degree difference between the living room and bedroom on a hot night, the bedroom is still comfortable for most guests. These guests were apparently exceptionally sensitive to the tropical climate and unfortunately happened to arrive on an unusually muggy day. Just a few hours after the guests decided to leave, the winds shifted, the temperature cooled, and the entire environment became comfortable even without air conditioning. (I was staying in a unit without A/C just down the hall.) Most guests appreciate having the extra space and convenience of an entire condo for less than the cost of a typical hotel room, and we sincerely regret that these guests were not able to enjoy D-614 because of one bad weather day.

  Paradise Dreams This was our third stay at the Kihei Akahi and we would stay again. Now that we are repeat guests we receive a lovely gift basket on arrival and that is a very thoughtful thing to do as we haven.t seen that in other places.

  The views were as grand as we remember. We did have a slow internet connection this time but were able to deal with it for my husband's business contacts. We have also thought the three of us should look into a two bedroom. All that aside we always think of returning to D614 because it feels like our home in Maui.

  The only complaint we had about the condo was the fact that there was only one window AC unit inside and it was in the living area. We were never able to sleep in the bedroom because we would sweat even without the covers over us. Next time we rent a condo we will be sure it has central AC or a window unit in the bedroom also. The position of the condo didn't allow the "trade-winds" to come into the condo at all. it was as hot inside as it was outside during the day. But with no wind coming in at all...We were very disappointed with the fact that we couldnt even sleep in the bed...we have learned our lesson! The condo had an AMAZING view and the rental agency was very helpful with our reservations and letting us have our late check-out that we requested without charging us extra! THANKS!

  The unit was exactly as the add stated. It was walking distance to the beach, quiet, and well furnished.
  The leasing office had a helful tourism agent with good deals.
  The only complaints were
  - the shower was not clean
  - there were no spare garbage disposal bags
  - the bedroom was very hot in the night
  - there were very few utensils to cook with.
  - the internet was shared and very slow
  - There were no sachets of laundry detergent and finding small quantities in stores in Kihei is hard.
  -There was a mishap in the bldg where we lost water for the day and it spoilt our plans for the day, while the local staff was helpful and managed to provide us with another condo. The holiday management was unaware and not apologetic of the situation.

  Our condo D-614 had everything, that a beachcomber needs and then some. My only complaint would be, having to drag 5 bags of groceries up an elevator from the ground floor. Too bad there was not a lift specifically for for this purpose. Also, the property did not have a recycle bin (we recycle everything). Having the beach right across the street was perfect and restaurants were in walking distance, fabulous! Will re-visit again.

  This condo was wonderful. The pictures are everything it is. We had a wonderful time. Wish we knew about the weights and boogie board under the bed. Saw them when we were leaving.   When first entering the room at night, we were disappointed it was further from the ocean than I had envisioned. Upon morning, seeing the view, that opionion changed. Besides the panorama, we were away from the traffic on Kihei Rd. The beach is a very short walk and the pool was very convenient. The condo was very well-stocked with conveninences, including the beach chairs and mats. There were only two beach towels so that would be something to improve on, and no kleenex, which would have been nice. But everything else was clean, comfortable and thoughtful.

  Located on the top floor of the highest complex on the grounds, it had an unobstructed view of the ocean, Molokini, and sunsets. The condo unit and complex was one of the best in location. The complex was located in close walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a beach practically at your door step. This was a bonus since parking at many beach areas was difficult to find. One could just park at the condo and walk to the beach, complete with lifeguard, washrooms, and outdoor shower. The condo unit was clean, nicely decorated, and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable -- no restless nights!. The automatic ice maker on the fridge was great and the unit came equipped with beach chairs, umbrella, mats - a bonus. Also, it was very pleasant to have a quiet complex -- no parties, it was very much a quiet adult getaway. A female travelling alone, I felt very safe in the complex and Kihei area and had no problems walking alone at dusk. The grounds are patrolled regularly with security staff on golf carts and they are very attentive to their duties.
  
  The minor negatives of the unit would be that the ledge above the bedroom was very dirty/dusty from the screen window 'vents' and should be cleaned more regularly, the bathroom caulking is showing its age, and the screen door on the balcony would not close or lock and the screen was ripped by the handle allowing potential bugs into the unit. Second, arriving at night, it was very frustrating trying to find the complex as reading the road signs at night was difficult. A map would have been very beneficial with landmarks identified as well as a map of the complex in relation to others on the grounds. Security had to help me find the complex. Overall, these were minor issues and did not impact my overall stay which was good.
  
  I would definitely stay at this condo unit again.
