It was a quiet, lovely location. The unit was roomy, kitchen comfortable and complete, and the view fabulous. It was a quick drive to spectacular beaches, shopping and restaurants. There were adequate shops close by. Roy's restaurant was amazing and within easy walking distance. Also, there was a full sized washer/dryer in the unit, so we came home with all clean clothes in the suitcases. At the same time, we were close to lots of action when we wanted more adventure and things to do.
The property itself is fabulous - right on the beach, quiet, assigned underground parking to keep the car cool and the management really takes excellent care of the property from the cleaning of the BBQ grills to cleaning the pool to keeping the pool furniture spotless. We were in an end unit and really liked the floor plan and view, however the unit itself was stuck in the 70's/80's. The appliances were ancient and nothing had been done really to update the unit to modern standards unlike most all the other units we saw in the complex. For example, most units had new kitchens and baths with granite and new fixtures and appliances, new flooring, sunshades off the lanai etc. This unit, while functional, had made no effort to bring it up to date - counters in the bathrooms were still laminate, the bed sway factor would not survive a honeymooning couple, the flooring was an old carpet and the furniture cushions were cushioned out. I realize it is a rental, but when I saw other rental units (which by the way cost less because they were not an end unit) with the new bathrooms and kitchens, furniture that didn't sag or feel like it would break if you sat on it, I really was disappointed in the owner of the unit for not keeping up with his fellow owners of the property. I highly recommend the property, just pick unit other than the one we stayed in.
This was the second time my wife and I stayed in this unit, and the first time we had all three of our sons in Maui. We throughly enjoyed our stay.
We were so thrilled to get a corner unit with double ocean views. I left my cellphone charger in my unit, and it was promptly returned at no charge. Really appreciate the special kindness.
I spent six days in a Hololani Condo unit on the 7th floor with my wife and three teenaged boys. I found Hololani after an 18 month search on the internet of real estate and resort websites weeding through hundreds of listings to end up with Hololani. This was a calculated risk on my part, after establishing my personal criteria for where I wanted to take my family. All I had to go by were pictures, lists of ammenities, and some website testimonials. No one referred me to Hololani. I basically wanted to get the best value for the money I was spending in West Maui and I am extremely happy with what I got at Hololani. When my wife walked through the door of A704 for the first time, she was absolutely awe struck. It made me look real good as the husband, and I chalk it up to everthing advertised by Hololani was absolutely true and and then some. A beautiful well kept condo over looking a beach and pool with a spectacular view for sunsets. Unfortunately, six days comes and goes way to quick. When we return to Maui, Hololani is a sure bet again.
