HULA COVE IS ONE OF THOSE SWEET OLD COTTAGES built many years ago specifically as a beach house. It has the true vintage feel of a simpler time with the modern amenities of today. Hula Cove has a large living/bedroom area, kitchen, and full bath with shower. A broad outdoor lanai across the entire...view full description front of the house practically sits right on top of the sparkling clear tide pools.
WAKE UP TO THAT FABULOUS VIEW of the famous Waiopae ponds! Hula Cove is the last house at the end of the tide pools that attract visitors to this area. Down the road others are parking their cars after their drive to Kapoho, hauling their snorkel gear over the lava, and figuring out where to leave their things while they go in the water. All you have to do is _roll out of bed and wade in!_ You simply walk down the nice cement steps that gently lead you into the warm water. Rent a kayak and really explore the area!
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION and at an affordable price! Because Hula Cove is a small cottage with a queen bed and a small sofabed (3 people are the most Hula Cove can comfortably accommodate), you can enjoy a waterfront property without paying oceanfront rates.
HULA COVE ISN'T FANCY, BUT IT'S FUN! When you're not snorkeling or swimming, the owners have provided a nice flat-screen satellite TV and high-speed Internet access for your laptop. Hula Cove has a galley kitchen and the cottage is located behind a private gate on a fairly large lot.

More than a pleasant surprise

May, 2009I loved the property and it exceeded my expectations. The minute I opened the door I fell in love with this hidden gem. The location on the tidepools allowed me to just jump in for a swim any time I wanted to cool off. The waters were calm and the snorkeling was great. Got to watch the fish right off the back deck. Everything a renter could ask for was provided. The place was immaculate. I rode down the road to the night time lava viewing area which turned out to be a true once in a lifetime experience. I thank the owners for making this rental available.

Little paradise in Kapoho
A guest from Bellevue, wa recommends this
property.Stayed 5 days in
May, 2009I stayed alone in the house, for one week at the end of May 2009, and I loved it. I came for some appointments in the Puna area, and also had to work. While the house is tiny and really only for couples or single travellers, it is perfect and seems like heaven. I got there late at night in pouring rain, and did not see anything of the property or area. I was stunned the next morning when I saw where I was! You literally fall out of bed and can walk into your "own" little pool, that is connected to the open ocean, after some swimming around the rocks. From the deck behind the house, you can see and hear the ocean which I really appreciated. I especially liked falling asleep with the sound of the ocean. I will certainly come back.

March, 2009This is a real getaway and great for snorkeling in the winter on the Hilo side of the island. While the public has also found the tide pools spectacular, it is still the most private you will likely get in Hawaii! We really enjoyed our stay and found all very comfortable and clean.
